Centaurea dealbata (Perennial Cornflower) – 2x Mini Plug Plants A clump-forming perennial reaching up to 1m in height, featuring narrowly oval, lobed green leaves with a soft, whitish underside. During summer, upright stems produce lilac-pink flowers with a distinctive structure: a ring of deeply fringed outer petals surrounding a centre of paler inner petals. Centaurea dealbata is valued for its soft lavender-pink blooms, making it an excellent choice for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flower arrangements. It is also attractive to pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Growing Information: Sow indoors: August–October or March–May, lightly covering seeds with compost Sow outdoors: March–May Germination: 14–21 days at 16–20°C Transplant seedlings into 8cm pots once large enough to handle Overwinter autumn sowings under glass; plant out in spring Plant in a sunny, well-drained position Space plants 20cm apart (or thin direct sowings to this distance) Water regularly until established Sow every 2–3 weeks for a continuous display Deadhead regularly to encourage prolonged flowering Ideal for adding long-lasting summer colour and structure to garden displays.
